Where Did It Happen?: Steel Creek Campground, behind site #12
When Did It Happen?: April 21, 2025
What Happened?: I was making coffee by the fire when I noticed my socks—which had been soaked and disgusting the night before—were now hanging on a stick frame like a drying rack… arranged by color.
Thought it was my wife. It wasn’t.
Later, I saw a big tail slip back into the water and heard a low chuckle that sounded like James Earl Jones gargling river stones.
Pretty sure I got Merilla’d.
What Kind Of Encounter Was It?: Rearranged my gear, I don't know...it was just...weird, Gave me weirdly specific peace
